Is This The Most Unusual Reason To Move a Game?

There have been many good reasons why a football match needed to be rescheduled over the years - a waterlogged pitch, unsafe clubhouse or even a lack of players.

However, one of the most bizarre reasons you are ever likely to hear that can stop a game from being played on time has to be for the sake of cheese appreciation?

That’s right - Chippenham Town’s game FA Cup game away to Frome Town has been moved to Friday 11th September to avoid clash with the annual Frome Cheese Show. The two clubs agreed to play 24 hours earlier as the agricultural show could have effected the games attendance. Nobody wants to miss out on the cheese right?

We’ve asked bookies for odds on the Chippenham squad still traveling to Frome on the day of the Show and turning out in their full kit too enjoy a feast on Baby Swiss or some Red Leicester, but we’re yet to get a reply.
