Martin Foyle Appointed As Southport Manager
Conference Premier side Southport have appointed Martin Foyle as their new manager.
The 51-year-old former Port Vale, York City and Hereford United manager replaces John Coleman, who left just two days after the season ended. He guided the Sandgrounders to 18th place but parted company with the club, stating that he wanted to return to full-time management.
Foyle arrives at the Merseyrail Community Stadium with vast experience. As manager of York City, he took the club to the FA Trophy Final in 2009, and in 2010 they retruned to Wembley in the Football Conference play-off final.
Chairman Charlie Clapham told the club website: “We are all very excited by the appointment. We have said that we need to be moving the club forward and Martin can achieve this.”
