Paul Hurst Takes Sole Charge At Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town have today declared that Paul Hurst has taken sole control of first-team matters at the Non League club. However, the Mariners offerd no details regarding the position of Hurst’s joint-manager, Rob Scott.

The management pair took over at Blundell Park in 2011 and have also previously worked along side each other at Ilkeston Town and Boston United, enjoying promotion into the Conference North through the play-offs with both clubs.

In a brief announcement placed on the club’s website the club reported: “Paul Hurst will take sole charge of team matters at this time.”

“The club will make a further statement in due course.”

Last season saw the Lincolnshire outfit challenging near the top of the Conference Premier table, ultimately finishing in fourth position and missing out on promotion to eventual play-off winners Newport County during the semi-finals. The Mariners also went to the FA Trophy final at Wembley Stadium but were defeated by Wrexham on penalties after drawing 1-1.
