Tommy Wright Takes Sole Charge At Corby Town

Corby Town have parted company with joint-manager Andrew Wilson. Fellow joint-manager Tommy Wright will now take sole charge of the Calor League Southern Premier Division club with immediate effect.

Wilson was previously manager of ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League side Harborough Town and the assistant-boss at Conference North side Histon. He arrived at Steel Park as part of a new managerial team along side Tommy Wright in September 2013.

The duo have had to work with a bare bones squad this season after a number of players left following problems over their wages being paid while the playing budget was also cut. Chairman Kevin Ingram confirmed in April he has agreed a deal to sell the majority shareholding of the club to a consortium of local businessmen.

The new owners have thanked Wilson for his hard work during an extremely difficult season for the club. However, it has been seen as not financially viable to have two managers working at the club and the Board could no longer justify his position.

In order to allow Wilson the opportunity to find himself a new club ahead of the 2014/15 season, the club felt that the fairest option for was to make the decision now.
